According to the newly released Wisconsin Domestic Violence Homicide Report, 47 people in Wisconsin lost their lives to domestic violence in 2018. Patti Seger, Executive Director of End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin, announced the release of the report at the Women’s Center in Waukesha today along with Angela Mancuso, Executive Director of the Women’s Center, Landon Nyren, Lieutenant at City of Delafield Police and Buck Blodgett, Executive Director of The LOVE>hate Project.

Today, Rep. Beth Meyers, Rep. Amanda Stuck, Sen. Janet Bewley, and advocates gathered on the land of the Lac Du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa to release a bill that would create a statewide intergovernmental task force to address the problem of missing and murdered indigenous women.

Teen dating violence is a public health crisis in the United States, with 1 in 5 female students and 1 in 10 male students experiencing physical and/or sexual dating violence alone. Domestic violence victim advocates across Wisconsin are once again expressing their concern over the most recent attempts by the Trump administration to curb legal immigration in the United States.

Every two years, End Abuse releases our legislative agenda, which summarizes our priorities for proactive policy and social change to end domestic abuse in Wisconsin. End Abuse requests proposals for a presenter to facilitate training for tribal and rural domestic abuse and sexual assault advocates, focused on trauma-sensitive work with survivors of gender-based violence, individuals and communities impacted by trauma, in August 2019. Proposals are due April 29.
