Safe Harbor is seeking a dynamic and strategic CEO to lead the organization in its mission to provide impactful services and build meaningful community partnerships. The CEO will oversee financial, programmatic, and administrative operations while serving as the primary advocate and visionary for the organization.

Primary responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Operations/Administration:

  • Stay informed on trends in domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and sexual assault fields.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of program goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee compliance with funding source reporting requirements.
  • Lead the organization’s strategic planning and execution processes.

Community Outreach:

  • Act as the primary spokesperson for Safe Harbor in media and community engagements.
  • Promote the organization’s mission and vision to the public.
  • Oversee community education initiatives on issues related to domestic and sexual violence.

Fund Development:

  • Develop and execute a fund development plan in alignment with the strategic plan.
  • Cultivate relationships with corporate, foundation, and government funding sources.
  • Oversee major grant proposals and funding applications.
  • Plan and manage fundraising activities and events.

Board Development:

  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to recruit and engage new members.
  • Provide training and facilitate effective board dynamics to support organizational goals.

Staff Supervision & Relations:

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented workplace culture.
  • Collaborate on hiring and staff evaluation processes.
  • Support professional development and implement best practices.

Fiscal Management:

  • Develop and monitor the annual budget in collaboration with the Board.
  • Oversee financial records, reporting, and audits.
  • Ensure program budgets meet contractual and policy obligations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, nonprofit management, business administration, communications, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated skills in budgeting, fiscal management, grant oversight, fundraising, and program development.
  • Excellent public speaking and community relations skills.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally, including overnight trips.

Salary Range:  $78,000 – $117,000 commensurate on experience.
