Position Available: Domestic Violence Advocate- Youth/Children
Hours: 40 hours per week serving Oconto and Marinette County, WI, Menominee Co. Michigan
Hours may include nights, weekends and on call schedule.
Job Description: This position entails but is not limited to working with children and youth who are either currently experiencing or witnessing domestic abuse. This position will assist in working with schools in all three counties that the agency serves, presenting to grades 2nd -12th on topics such as: domestic violence awareness, self-esteem and boundary building, and healthy vs. unhealthy dating relationships. The youth advocate will also provide one-on-one advocacy to children and their non-offending parent(s) that are seeking options and referrals to better their current living situation or relationship. This position will assist with facilitating support groups to address safety planning, self-esteem and various other topics. Advocate will be asked to attend and present at public speaking engagements; support and attend Rainbow House special events and functions.

Required Education and Skills:

College degree in related field preferred. Applicant will possess ability to work as a team member and independently on their shift. 1-2 years experience in a non-profit or social service position preferred.

Ability to maintain the highest level of client confidentiality, also have the ability to work well in a team or independent environment.
Applicant will demonstrate computer skills in Word, Publisher, Power Point and Excel programs. Additional requirements:

Advocate will provide services to Oconto and Marinette Counties in WI, as well as Menominee County in MI Valid State Driver’s License and Vehicle Insurance Required
Reliable Transportation
Must pass all background and reference checks
