Be an anchor during the storm.  Our Crisis Intervention Advocates often serve as the gateway to our services providing the first point of contact for many of our clients.  Your compassion and guidance will help support survivors, their friends, their families and other concerned community members as they begin their healing journey.  The first step is often the most difficult and you can be ease that by reducing their isolation and letting them know they are not alone.  You will connect with our clients through our 24/7 helpline, in person as a walk-in client or as a referral through our law enforcement referral program.  This is currently a part-time, 10-19 hours/week, position.  Apply today and make a difference in the lives of survivors.

 

Variable Part-Time (10-20 hours/week), Non-exempt.  Hourly pay of $16/hour, negotiable based upon experience and qualifications.

Primary responsibilities

Engage in the provision of direct services to victims of domestic violence:

  • Provides trauma informed direct services to victims of domestic violence and their children
  • Approaches all client situations and emergencies with the goal of maintaining client safety
  • Provides assistance with safety planning, problem solving, parenting support, information and referrals
  • Responds effectively to challenging situations with clients
  • Completes proper documentation in accordance with agency policies

Qualifications

There’s no such thing as a perfect candidate.  You don’t need 100% of the preferred qualifications to add incredible value to our team. Our clients come from all different backgrounds, and so do our employees. If you’re passionate about what you could accomplish here, and you meet the minimum requirements of the position, we’d love to hear from you.

 

  • Excellent written and verbal skills required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred though relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience working with victims of trauma and their children is strongly preferred.  Knowledge of domestic violence issues is also strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds preferred.
  • Experience in crisis intervention preferred.
  • Experience working with volunteers preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
