The Director of Administration ensures organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for business-focused functions. This position is responsible for implementing strategic and long-range plans for the organization as well as fostering accountability for compliance with policies and procures. The successful candidate will manage audits, lead budget development, ensure contract and regulatory compliance, ensure timely financial reporting, advance continuous process improvement, and support staff in achieving goals.

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree is preferred though relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience overseeing cross-functional administration staffs.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy development and budgetary/finance skills.
  • Experience in risk, contract, and vendor management. Experience with facility management desired.
  • Ability to learn and apply complex governmental guidelines related to accounting, personnel, purchasing, and operations.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a results-oriented work ethic.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Planning
    • Partner with the Executive Director and Executive Team members on strategic and operational issues, providing recommendations based upon comprehensive capacity and risk assessments.
    • Oversee long-term budgetary planning and resource planning in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan and ensures appropriate attention to ongoing financial planning and analysis as well as human resource management to monitor the fiscal position and overall health of the organization.
    • Play a significant role in fostering proactive management of the organization, including identifying and leading initiatives geared toward operational excellence across departments and disciplines.
  • Financial and Operations Management
    • Oversee financial management, planning, systems, and controls for the organization.
    • Ensure organization of corporate records and documents, monitors contract compliance, ensures timely reporting and billing, ensures maintenance of all financial, contract, grant, and payroll files.
    • Coordinate annual audits (e.g., financial, Workers’ Compensation, insurance, etc.).
    • Work with the Operations Manager to develop and maintain physical assets.
  • Human Resource Management
    • Work with the Human Resources Manager to ensure the organization’s staffing needs are met.
    • Attend to fostering a productive work culture reflecting the organization’s values and articulated DAIS Experience.
    • Make decisions and/or recommendations for action on hiring, disciplining, or terminating employees.
  • Management & Supervision
    • Attend to recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of professional staff
    • Provide leadership, coaching, supervision, and support to staff
    • Monitor organizational performance indicators and ensure tracking of performance across departments
  • Other duties as assigned.
