DAIS is seeking a Director of Administration to join its Executive Team. The person filling this role will provide practical leadership that ensures smooth and effective operations of the organization. In this role you would enjoy taking part in strategic problem-solving and hands-on planning as you provide leadership for our business-focused functions. You would also play an integral part in Implementing strategic and long-range plans for the organization and would foster fiscal accountability and compliance. Our Director of Administration will manage audits, lead budget development, ensure contract and regulatory compliance, collaborate with contracted accounting professionals, advance continuous process improvements, and support staff in achieving goals. As our Director of Administration, your areas of responsibility would include finance/accounting, building and facility services/management, and grant stewardship.

Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS) empowers those affected by domestic violence and advocates for social change through support, education, and outreach. DAIS envisions a nonviolent community that actively promotes safety, peace, justice, and hope.
Primary responsibilities
• Play a significant role in fostering proactive management of the organization, including identifying and leading initiatives geared toward operational excellence across departments.
• Partner with the Executive Director and Executive Team on strategic and operational issues, providing recommendations based upon comprehensive capacity and risk assessments.
• Oversee financial management, planning, systems and controls for the organization.
• Ensures maintenance and organization of corporate records and documents, monitors grant and contract compliance, ensures timely reporting and billing.
• Lead the budget development process.
• Work with staff to develop policies and procedures relating to the maintenance and protection of physical assets and systems.
• Supervise a multi-functional team of professionals.

Required:
• Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience overseeing cross-functional administrative staff
• Demonstrated experience in policy development and budgetary/finance skills
• Experience in risk, contract & vendor management
• Ability to learn and apply complex governmental guidelines related to accounting, personnel, purchasing, and operations.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a results-oriented work ethic
Preferred:
• A Master’s degree is preferred though relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Nonprofit finance and accounting experience
• Experience with facility management
