The Director of Client Services leads efforts to empower those affected by domestic violence, including survivors, their children, and those who care about them. This position is responsible for upholding the organization’s commitment to quality service delivery in the shelter program, by the case management unit, with children’s services, and through crisis intervention efforts. This position will work closely with the Director of Prevention and Systems Advocacy to ensure attention to the full scope of programs and services that realize the DAIS mission. It supervises the Shelter Program Manager, Case Management Services Manager, Children’s Services Manager, and Crisis Intervention Coordinator. The successful candidate brings experience managing 24/7 operations in the social sector, supporting staff in achieving goals, and cultivating cross-functional collaboration of teams.

Primary responsibilities

• Strategy and Planning
o Partner with the Executive Director and Executive Team members on strategic and operational issues.
o Attend to programmatic resource planning in alignment with the strategic plan and overall health of the organization.
o Foster proactive management throughout client services areas and operational excellence across departments.
o Provide direction and consultation regarding victim outreach strategies, community partnerships, and advocacy.

• Program Development and Management
o Ensure programs operate within agency ideology, policies and procedures, legal obligations, and best practices.
o Cultivate and model trauma-informed service delivery rooted in empowerment advocacy and liberation.
o Develop and advance program evaluation methods to support reporting and continuous improvement practices.
o Responds to client grievances, as appropriate.
o Ensures cross-departmental and/or cross-functional service delivery to meet client needs.

• Management & Supervision
o Attend to recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of professional staff
o Provide leadership, coaching, supervision, and support to staff
o Monitor organizational performance indicators and ensure tracking of performance across departments

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree is preferred though relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience overseeing cross-functional direct service teams.
• Experience with trauma survivors required, knowledge of domestic violence issues preferred.
• Excellent problem solving, judgement, communication, and time management skills required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people and to positively influence change.
• Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a results-oriented work ethic.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
