Primary responsibilities

Project Description

Provide planning, coordination, and facilitation of strategic planning and capacity building services, with a priority on serving culturally specific and smaller Domestic Violence (DV) Programs, throughout the state. This project will help strengthen 5-10 programs, depending on level of needs, and help build End Abuse’s internal expertise in strategic planning. Strategic planning must be completed by September 30th, 2025.

Strategic planning facilitator(s) should have experience working with non-profit organizations and utilizing the Technology of Participation (ToP) Methods approach.

Scope of Work & Deliverables

We expect the project to include:

  1. Project management and facilitation
  2. Design & execution of a strategic planning process for 5-10 Domestic Violence non-profit organizations in Wisconsin; and
  3. Development of a plan to monitor and evaluate the strategic plan’s implementation.

The proposal should include:

  1. A project plan that demonstrates an understanding of the work to be performed, estimated hours, and other information relevant to the project;
  2. Qualifications of all consulting staff who will be assisting with the project; and
  3. A budget including time and cost projections.

Primary Responsibilities

Scope of Services

Strategic planning consultant(s) will coordinate these activities / provide the following services:

Strategy & Planning  

  • Attend Planning Committee Meetings (approx. 1 hr. each, a minimum of one per month)
  • Assist with the development of Strategic Planning Application for DV Programs

Strategic Planning Management/Execution 

  • Development of process for strategic planning sessions
  • Develop a plan that will guide ongoing organizational, programmatic, and operational strategic initiatives to ensure sustainability for the organization to 5-10 DV/Dual (DV/SA) Programs
  • Communicate / coordinate with End Abuse key staff
  • Coordinate and oversee a team of facilitators, if needed
  • Identification of strategies and actions needed for each program as they move forward with their strategic plan
  • Provide apprenticeship to End Abuse staff to build internal capacity
  • Provide updates to End Abuse (frequency TBD)

Post Strategic Planning  

  • Provide documentation of the strategic plan to the DV programs receiving facilitation services and End Abuse

Agency responsibilities

End Abuse will:  

  • Distribute the application for Strategic Planning opportunity to DV Programs in Wisconsin and collect completed applications.
  • Organize a committee for selection DV Program participants
  • Ensure the consultant is equipped with an understanding of unique challenges to DV Programs.
  • Providing technical assistance and support to programs before, during and after the strategic planning process.
  • Assist with communication between DV Program and consultants, as needed
  • Review materials and provide feedback in a timely manner
  • Analyze evaluation results
